The Club runs a very popular Archery evening on Fridays between 8:30pm and 10:30pm at the Leicester Leys Leisure Centre, Bennion Road, Beaumont Leys, Leicester.
The Archery sessions for Leicester DISC forms part of the many sports activities which the members are encouraged to take part in. The Clubs’ main meeting takes place on Thursday evenings at Alylestone Leisure Centre.
As well as being a registered charity the Club is affiliated to the Grand National Archery Association (GNAS). The Archery session is subject to the constitution and the regulations and rules laid down by GNAS and the Charity Commission.
Being a disabled sports club, Archers with a disability are not required to pay the usual fee for GNAS registration. Once an archery is GNAS registered they are eligible to shoot at other club venues. It is advisable to check on times and costs involved.
There are currently over 20 members who regularly take part in the session and anyone welcome to add there name to our waiting list.
All members who do not posses there own equipment are welcome to make use of the Clubs’.
As a disabled sports club we are regularly invited to attend various sports days which include archery touraments among there activities. Members are encourage to take part in these.
We also receive invitations to other open events and tournaments, details of which are passed on when they are received.
The Club organises its own internal tournament with a trophy presesented to the winner at the annual presentation evening (usually held in January) at Aylestone Leisure Centre. The Tournament comprises of modified GNAs rounds and archery games.
