In 1982 various interested people got together and decide to form a sports club for disabled people to go to.
Initially the club was based at Granby halls, until its closure, when we moved to Aylestone Leisure Centre.
In the early days the club had 12 meetings a year, on a Thursday evening between 7pm and 10pm, and in 1984 the club had 46 meetings with members engaging in a limited number of sports.
The club now meets every Thursday excluding short breaks at Christmas and in the summer. Over the years our membership has grown with around 30 regular members attending each week.
The objectives of the club are set out in our constitution, which was fully adopted on the 5th October 1995, prior to our registration as a charity. The objectives of the club are as follows:
The objectives of the club shall be the relief of disabled persons resident within the East Midlands, by bringing such persons into closer association with able bodied people, particularly by providing or assisting in improving facilities for recreation or other leisure time occupation in the interest of social welfare and would be subject to improving their conditions of life.
